More Money Spent = More Kits To Build

Okay, so I went to the local IPMS  ("International Plastic Modelers Society) meeting this afternoon–after spending the morning working on the Heinrich (new photos are added to the Heinrich gallery). The Feburary meeting is annually(?) an auction of kits from club members–stuff they don’t want to build or changed their mind on, or–in a couple of cases–they swiped some needed parts out of and discounted. Well, I dropped $26 there, and came away with probably $100 worth of kits. Three are still in the shrink-wrap. What’d I get? Well…

  • 1:144 RA-5C Vigilante, by ARII Plastic Model
  • 1:72 F-16CJ (Block 50) Fighting Falcon, by Hasegawa Hobby Kits
  • 1:72 "Flyboys" Limited Edition Nieuport-17, by Eduard (of the Czech Republic)*
  • 1:72 "The ‘Ghost’ of Baghdad" Lockheed F-117A Stealth Attack-Bomber, by Academy Minicraft Model Kits*
  • 1:72 Mosquito B Mk.IV, by Hasegawa Hobby Kits*
  • No-scale ("14 Inches Long") Captain Kidd Pirate Ship, by Lindberg

*shrink-wrapped

Not a bad haul, for the money. I like the small-scale aircraft. I think it’s easier, being a hand-painter–to do them justice. Besides, they take up less room to display. Speaking of which, I really need to get a display case. Okay… Time to go work on the Heinrich. Expect an update on that in the next day or two. And expect me to start building aircraft one of these days…
